Off site search engine optimization techniques involve efforts made on websites outside of your own to push your own ranking higher. This includes multiple search engines indexed by Google (backlinks) and multiple search engines indexed by your own (organic traffic).

Search engine optimization (SEO) is important for almost every business to successfully grow and scale in the online space. As with any other marketing effort, making sure your website does not fall under the target of negative SEO efforts is critical to building your business online, and if you want to learn more about SEO, an informative post about this can be really helpful on this purpose.

Want to know how to know whether you are experiencing negative SEO? Check out our infographic.

1. Confirm Which Devices Support Which Browser

Currently in 2015 and 2016, it’s possible to find many browser versions which only support IE9.8 and later. Fortunately, the browser bug is not often a huge issue as most of the web uses the correct version anyway.

If you need to find out which devices (iPads, smartphones, and tablets) support which browser, the solution is not that hard to understand.

Although IE11 has already been out for more than a year, there are still versions that only support the last version of IE9.8 or lower. So keep in mind that if your business depends on the latest version of any browser to grow and thrive online, keep this in mind when optimizing your website.

2. Optimize Your Website for the Latest Version of Google Chrome

The Google Chrome browser is one of the most well-known browsers to employ SEO tactics. This has kept Google from requiring developers to support browsers to support a different version of the browser. This doesn’t mean that Google isn’t looking to integrate with those browsers to utilize their functionality.

For example, they implemented a way to automatically show Google logo in each webpage to signify which version is being used on the page. This also means that Google Chrome is not supporting Chrome Remote Desktop. So don’t be fooled into thinking that the Chrome browser and Google is not looking to bring functionality from Chrome to Google’s Chrome browser.

Google Chrome does support the latest version of Google Webmaster Tools. So you can use this to determine if any of your website’s pages do not perform properly on Google. Also, using Google Chrome would be a wise move if you want to advertise to Google’s AdWords.

3. Start Using Google Analytics

Google Analytics is the online business analytics tool that helps enterprises, businesses and individuals track the time and page views of online traffic.

Analytics provides a ton of data that is usually handy in helping enterprises know how many visitors they have, and which pages and content are generating the most conversions. If you own your own business, you can use this tool to track website traffic and visitors. The data analytics offers are very useful to measure growth and provide insights about where you stand in terms of traffic.

4. Test, Test, Test for Pay Per Click

Pay Per Click (PPC) ads are the ads that pop up on your websites and Google Search results. These are typically placed in the top locations of your websites. They help increase the click-through rate (CTR).

At the beginning of every new year, various organizations start to test a new PPC campaign to determine how it performs. There is a ton of flexibility with this aspect of advertising. You can use different ad types, pay per click bidding (B CPC), and several others.
